New Content in Our Digital Repository

We have been uploading some exciting new material to our website's Digital Repository. We are in the process of transcribing these documents, but they are ready to be viewed. Here is a highlight of some of our newer material.

From the Walter Norman and Amelia Turner Smith Fonds at the Glenbow Museum archives: The Smiths were journalists, editors, and committed activists for leftist causes and parties in Alberta. Their collection includes some records associated with the Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy and the Committee to Aid Spanish Refugees. Check out this trilingual pamphlet on The Destruction of Guernica, and this colourful pamphlet highlighting Canada's Volunteers in Spain.

We were lucky enough to visit the Centro Documental de la Memoria Histórica in Salamanca, Spain. They shared scans of many exciting documents, which you can find here.

Dr Bart Vautour, one of the co-directors of the project, has shared some of his rare Spanish Civil War materials, including a poster for the 1937 Paris Expo and a fundraising pin for Spanish children.
